NOTES FROM THE TABLE

Meet Scorpion

A few details help explain this feature. The tableau has seven columns. Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game. Scorpion on zuchepai9.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations.

The initial seven columns

A few details help explain this feature. Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. All cards in the last three columns are face up. Three cards remain in the stock. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down.

Check rank and suit together

Here are the details for this mode. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists.

Order within a group may vary

The following details apply here. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule.

The empty-column rule

The following details apply here. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence.

Uncover another choice

Keep these points in mind. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed. The next hidden card is revealed automatically. An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up.

Use the stock once

Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns. The stock contains one final deal of three cards. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal.

Collect ordered runs

Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit.

Practice Scorpion decisions

The following details apply here. Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation. Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked. Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout. A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card.

Save a Scorpion session

Here are the details for this mode. Scorpion keeps a separate saved position when game saving is enabled. Privacy & Cookie Settings lets you remove local saved games and results. My Statistics records Scorpion starts and wins separately from other variants. Random Scorpion shuffles are not advertised as guaranteed winnable.
